Here I go again, I am doing the “Walk” this year. I just cannot seem to stay away from this worthy event especially with all the support I have gotten since the “Walk” began in 2013. My overall total raised since 2013 is over $32,500. Thank you to the Exchange Club of Hanover, friends, family, and acquaintances, who have supported me over the years. However, the need is still there, and I have fun doing it so I just cannot quit. I will be walking on Friday, August 8, 2025, in Hanover. This is an event where men walk in high heels to support victims of family violence in the Greater Hanover Community. YWCA Hanover Safe Home provides services to over 1,000 survivors every year. Again, I am looking for people to sponsor me as I raise money for the YWCA Safe Home. In 2013, I raised $2100 wearing a dress, hat and wig. In 2014, I raised over $2300 as a Bride. In 2015, I dressed up as a “WAM Prom Queen” and raised over $2400. In 2016, I had double knee replacement and could not walk, but still supported the cause, raising $760. In 2017, I raised over $2800 as “Wonder Woman” and in 2018 I raised over $2000 as “Snow White”. In 2019, as “Nurse Nancy”, I raised over $2600 and 2020 as “Rosie the Riveter” I raised over $3000. In 2021, as “Georgette – The Flappergirl” I was over $3000 again. In 2022, as “Lady Liberty”, I raised over $4200 and in 2023 as “Barbie” I raised $3560. Last year in 2024, as “Lucy” and everyone’s support I raised $3555 dollars! I am not sure what I will be wearing or who I will be walking as, but I have some great ideas. My goal for this year is $2500. I am asking for your support, as I work toward this goal while raising money to support the YWCA Hanover/Safe Home and their efforts in addressing domestic abuse.
