The Animals Need YOU!

On October 4, I’ll be participating in the 2025 Capital Area Humane Society’s Walk for the Animals—and I’m walking to give homeless animals the second chances they deserve.

I have been working at the Captial Area Humane Society for the past 25 years.  I guess it is fair to say that I am a little passionate about the work that we do.  Every day we create HOPE for the homeless animals in our community while they complete our families with the unconditional love that pets provide.  

I am proud to share my life and home with the most amazing companions that were adopted from CAHS.  I often wonder where they would be right now if Capital Area Humane Society hadn't rescued them.  And, I also wonder what my life would be like without them.  We are so blessed to have CAHS.  

These are really challenging times for nonprofit organizations.  The Captial Area Humane Society receives no state or federal funding and isn’t affiliated with any national organizations. We rely soley on donations from our community to support our mission.  With rising costs and donations slowing down, charities need help now, more than ever.
