On October 4, I’ll be lacing up my sneakers for the 2025 Capital Area Humane Society Walk for the Animals—and I’m walking for every homeless pet waiting for a second chance.
Every day, dogs and cats arrive at CAHS scared, hungry, or sick. Some have been surrendered, some abandoned, but all are hoping for kindness. That’s where CAHS steps in—with food, medical care, safe shelter, and unconditional love.
But here’s the truth: they can’t do it without us.
CAHS receives no government funding and isn’t backed by any national organization. Their lifesaving work runs entirely on the compassion of people like you and me.
