On October 4, I’ll be participating in the 2025 Capital Area Humane Society’s Walk for the Animals—and this is my 20th year helping to raise money for these amazing animals.
Every day, animals arrive at CAHS with nothing but hope. As families face financial hardships, more pets are being surrendered, abandoned, or left without care. The Capital Area Humane Society steps in to provide food, shelter, medical treatment, and—most importantly—love!
My beloved Brisco was one of these animals. He and his littermate Roxie were brought up to CAHS from a high kill Tennessee shelter. My Brisco and Roxie were reunited after their individual adoptions and loved seeing each other. CAHS made this happen for us.
CAHS receives no state or federal funding and isn’t affiliated with any national organizations. Their work is entirely powered by the generosity of people like you.
