Dear Friends,
I have the honor of being a Shoe Guy at the 2025 Wine, Women, and Shoes event, a fundraiser to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga. In this role, I'll be in charge of greeting and escorting guests to the marketplace, promoting auction items, selling tickets for Key to the California Closet, selling donated bottles of wine from the Wall of Wine, selling mini cakes at the Stud Muffin table, but - most importantly - making every guest feel special. When first asked to do this, I thought being a Shoe Guy meant I would be selling shoes to women at a loud and boozy wine festival, and then probably dancing and making a fool of myself. Turns out they don't need a shoe salesman, but the rest of my assumptions were totally correct. They have found the perfect volunteer for this job.
What we need now is your donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, a very special charity that helps house families when a child is hospitalized, at zero cost to them. In 2024, the Chattanooga house was fully booked with a waiting list, hosting hundreds of guest nights at an average room cost of $150 per night. This event funds much of the needs for the year for the Chattanooga house, adjacent to Erlanger Hospital. I have met my initial fundraising goals of $500, and $2,000, and now have a new goal of $3,000. Help me make a splash in my first year as a Shoe Guy, winning the "King of Sole" fundraising award.
