The last year I have spent a lot of time thinking about this question. When Leon was born being his Mom looked like providing dignity, appreciating how God created him and finding him a peaceful resting place. As time passed I found peace and purpose in donating milk, knitting hats and making layettes for other babies. Approaching Leon's first birthday it feels appropriate to remember him by doing something together as a family, going to a baseball game and raising money for other families who will walk this path. Every baby no matter how long their life is, inside or outside of the womb is a person treasured by God. Help us remember and celebrate them.
We're raising money for No Foot Too Small
We're excited to come together to participate in 2026 Des Moines Angels in the Outfield, a fundraiser supporting No Foot Too Small. A part of Leon's story was having the oppertunity to utilize the bereavement suite at Mary Greeley Medical Center. There are two suites like this in the state of Iowa, specially designed for families like ours. While No Foot Too Small did not fund the suite at Mary Greeley, they are working to fund other suites like this around the state and have funded a suite at the University of Iowa Hospital. Please consider supporting No Foot Too Small so more families can recieve specialized care on some of their hardest days.
