On Sunday, May 25th 2025, I realized I hadn't felt baby move much. I told myself it could be normal. We are taking care of a toddler at home, baby could be sleeping, movements could have passed me by with mom life at home. Even though all of these things could be true, Jonah and I both agreed to check on baby. We would rather be safe than sorry.

  That afternoon we went to the ER and recieved some of the worst news any parents could hear - our baby's heart was no longer beating. An ultrasound was done to verify. At that time was when we found out our precious baby was a little girl.

  I was admitted to the hospital the next morning to deliver our baby girl at 25 weeks 5 days. It was a very long and emotional day for us. Lucia Marie Freeland was born with wings on May 26th at 10:33 pm, weighing 1lb 6oz and 13 inches long. She was absolutely beautiful.

  From there we were able to hold our precious angel and say our final goodbyes.
When we felt the time was right, the funeral home came to pick her up.

  Though her time here was cut short, her impact on us is lifelong. Lucia is still very much a part of our family. We speak her name and carry her with us always. We remember her every day - in the little things, in the quiet moments and in the love she brought into our lives.
