I'm participating in the 2026 Walt Disney World Dopey Challenge to honor the memory of Wesley Beam, a courageous four-year-old who lost his battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). Wesley was a dear friend of my daughter, Korra, and his story has deeply touched our lives.
DIPG is a devastating pediatric brain tumor with limited treatment options and a grim prognosis. In Wesley's memory, I'm fundraising for the Dragon Master Initiative, an organization dedicated to revolutionizing cancer research through data sharing and collaboration. Their efforts aim to accelerate the discovery of effective treatments for DIPG and other pediatric cancers.
The Dopey Challenge is a grueling event that spans four days and includes a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon—totaling 48.6 miles. By taking on this challenge, I hope to raise awareness and funds to support vital research initiatives.
