Like most families, cancer has affected our family very close to home when we lost my dad quickly to bladder cancer in 2022. Besides being heartbroken, I was also a new mom, navigating postpartum and now grieving the loss of a parent. As painful as that was, I cannot imagine losing a young child to such a terrible disease. 
 

Now as a mom of two, I am extremely grateful for my children's health and the access to science-based healthcare in the event we need it. That's why I chose to run with Team Fired Up, to support the Dragon Master Initiative in raising funds for children's cancer research.
 

I am so excited for the opportunity to run beside my sister, Carolyn (who is also raising money for this very worthy cause), in her first half marathon. We have so many beautiful memories of visiting Disney with our family when we were growing up and this run is extra special, being in Disney. Hoping to make our dad proud, too!
