This year, I’m running the runDisney 5K with Team Fired Up, in support of the Dragon Master Foundation, a charity using the power of data to revolutionize cancer research. It’s a mission that speaks deeply to my heart, because I’ve felt the pain of losing someone I love to cancer.

But this run isn’t just about honoring a life lost. It’s also about following where God is leading me, toward healing, purpose, and renewal.

My favorite Disney princess has always been Belle because she is guided by love, not fear. She sees the beauty in others and is willing to sacrifice and grow for something greater.

As a mom, I pour so much of myself into my kids and into the people around me. I often overlook my own needs, my own health, and even my own dreams. God created me with value and purpose, and I believe this race is a step in the right direction.

One verse that anchors this journey for me is Hebrews 12:1-2:
"Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
This isn’t just a physical race. It’s a spiritual one. And I run it with endurance, not in my own strength, but in His.
