Braxton is now 18 years old and has been doing really well for the past 2 years. In 2024 we added a new medication and it has been life-changing for the entire family. We are living life and enjoying the seizure freedom for once. We know that at any point this can and most likely will change. It's the nature of the beast...Dravet Syndrome.
In 16 years, DSF has funded over $14.1 million to more than 84 research projects. They are funding cutting-edge research ideas, ensuring young scientist stay in research, and filling crucial gaps for therapeutic development. There have been 3 FDA-approved medications, there are 6 medications are in clinical development, there are 2 genetic-based therapies in clinical studies, a total of 17 research animal models and there have been over 3,000 publications. DSF is definately doing their part.
70.1% of all funds DSF recieves come from fundraising events like Give Up Your Cup.
