I am the team captain for Safety Insurance for the ICYCLE 2026 event to help end and prevent homelessness. Since the covid shut down in 2020, the streets only get worse, filled with homeless, in the cold, in the extreme heat of the summer. So many, shoes off, feet and hands bare. So sad to see on my walk to the office from South Station. The photo is my friend Maurice. He is a nice polite man that does not ask for anything and lives on the streets of Boston. He said he does not like to go into the shelters at night because he is afraid someone will take his belongings. A year ago, on New Years Eve a group of kids partying took his dolly with most of his possessions while he was inside using the restroom. I talk to Maurice often on the way to the office. I gave him a bright green blanket a few months ago, he said everyone was calling him the grinch around Christmas time because the color is like the grinch. He does not ask for anything, I just bring him items that might help through the day. Boots, socks, sweatshirts, my dad's tennis rain suit, hand, and foot warmers. My challenge for 2026 is to help Maurice find housing to have a safe place to sleep and keep out of the elements .Thank you to all that have donated in the past and if you know me it is not easy for me to ask for money, but this is such an important event, and I am hoping you will donate to my page.
