After being asked about my “why?” I am happy to share it this year! I can truly say that God used my story and experience to build my faith, and I am stronger for it. I asked him strength, and He gave me the endurance to overcome the struggle, rather than removing it immediately. I was trying to fight a battle on my own when I had all of the resources, support, and people that I needed to help me. Having my sport and life taken away from me ultimately led me to put my trust in God. With that being said Jesus is a huge part of why I choose recovery every day. My faith reminds me I’m loved and that my life has purpose. My parents, friends, and family showed me what that love looks like in real life daily. I realized how much I matter to the people who love me, they are my “why”! My faith in Jesus gives me strength that my story can help someone who needs to hear it today and this fundraiser gives me the opportunity to make a difference! My Personal Fundraising!! A weekend of help, support and recovery that saves lives! I feel incredibly blessed to have the privilege of raising money for a cause that God has placed so deeply on my heart. This event means more to me than I can put into words. Not One More Weekend exists to ensure that individuals battling eating disorders have access to the treatment, care, and compassion they desperately need—and deeply deserve. Over the past two years, thanks to the incredible generosity of friends and family, I was able to raise over $3,000. As I begin again this year, my heart is overflowing with Gods love and endless grace to give back to something he has used so powerfully in my own story. I was blessed with access to treatment, to support, to people who carried me through some of the hardest moments of my life. Their love and our merciful God is the reason I’m here today—able to stand on the other side and fight for someone else’s tomorrow.
