I walk as a two-time survivor of postpartum preeclampsia. I had two very different experiences each time. I was high risk. Along with the physical toll of preeclampsia, I dealt with the sudden death of my father five days after my son's birth. I wish I had a care team that was concerned about my well-being at the time because I was incapable of caring for myself. Educating mothers about the dangers of preeclampsia is important to me. It's necessary to know the symptoms, the risks, and how to advocate for ourselves during such a vulnerable time.
