I walk in the Somerset Promise Walk for Preeclampsia as both a survivor and an advocate. My journey through preeclampsia opened my eyes to the realities so many mothers face, especially Black women who are disproportionately impacted by maternal health complications. This walk is deeply personal—it represents my survival, my voice, and my commitment to raising awareness and pushing for change. I walk to honor those who didn’t make it, to support those currently navigating their journey, and to advocate for equitable, respectful, and life-saving care for Black mothers everywhere.
