Near the end of my pregnancy with my daughter, I was diagnosed with Preeclampsia. I had been educated on the risks of this diagnosis throughout my pregnancy but didn't think much of it, as I was having no complications.
I arrived at the hospital ready to give birth and was told I had high blood pressure, causing me to be induced. After a day of labor my sweet daughter was born. I had significant tearing and lost almost 2 liters of blood and was sent to the OR for repairs.
After 3 hours I was finally with my family again and so grateful for the hospital staff who helped me recover and helped me feel less scared.
I chose to walk for myself and all other families who have had to deal with this diagnosis and the fear that comes along with it.
