Blood transfusions are the most common procedure in hospitals and South Texas Blood & Tissue (STB&T) plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive lifesaving care.

Blood donors are more critical than ever.

• 20% of Texas depends on blood from STB&T
• 1 in 7 patients will need a blood transfusion
• 15-20% growing need in blood is being driven by rapid population growth in South Texas

Your support can help STB&T build a permanent donor center in the Rio Grande Valley, giving more Texans an opportunity to save lives. 

A larger donor base will strengthen our Heroes in Arms® pre-hospital blood supply, saving lives before patients reach the hospital.

Cell and gene therapies begin with human cells donated by patients and healthy volunteers. These breakthroughs are transforming how cancer and auto-immune diseases are treated, but access remains limited:

• Only 7 Texas Centers can deliver commercially available CAR T-Cell Therapies
• Due to access barriers, Only 20% of CAR T-Cell Therapy eligible patients recieve treatment
• Access to these therapies often depends on how far a patient can travel

In 2025, BBG Advanced Therapies launched the world's first mobile leukapheresis center, bringing critical cell collection to underserved communities and closing gaps in cancer care. 

Philanthropic support can accelerate lifesaving work being done at BioBridge Global's Center for Innovation and BioDesign, including:

• Premiva™ - a newly-patented testing platform that helps researchers develop new and effecctive therapies faster by:
  •  usising microfluidics and manitrurization to accelerate development of therapies against cancer and autoimmune diseases
  • Measuring and confirming how therapies work, including their mechanism of action
  • Providing clear, early insights that support regulatory approval
  • Detecting off-target binding early, helping reduce safety risks
     
• Releasate™ - a patent-pending growth medium supplement made from non-transfusable platelets that:
  • Enables human cells to be grown at scale, supporting cell therapies
  • Extends use of non-transfeusable platelets, helping us be better stewards of this generous gift
