I am thankful every day to be caring for children and their families, introducing books and all the ways reading can help them succeed.  Reading is more than just an endearing routine--it shapes how they think, learn, and connect with the world. 

It strengthens EMOTIONAL bonds. The security and connection between parent and child reading together can be enhances with a book.   Remember  "Love you Forever" or "Guess How much I love you?"

It sparks IMAGINATION and CURIOSITY.  Books can introduce new ideas, places and perspectives of others. How about "the Very Hungry Caterpillar" or "Where the Wild things are" 

It supports SCHOOL SUCCESS! Reading skills are linked to earlier book introduction. Do you remember "Green Eggs and Ham" or "Frog and Toad" and how they repeat sounds and rhymes for early readers?

It is a STRESS REDUCER for both parent and child!   You should read "Owl Babies" or "Goodnight Moon" or "The Kissing Hand"
