The phrase "You are one in a million" has been romanticized for years to mean you are special. However, as an individual with an ultra rare bleeding disorder, being "one in a million" has been synonymous with feeling alone and misunderstood for most of my life. In fact, I was 27 years old when I first saw a brochure explaining what Factor V Deficiency was and I had never felt more seen! Ever since then, I have understood the importance of having a place where I can go and people not only understand what I live with but also strive to work towards finding better treatment, representation and education for all of us. A donation is the first step towards guaranteeing that we have the access to proper education and the resources needed to be better advocates for ourselves and our community.
