I started running as a way to give myself space, one moment in my day where I could stop overthinking and simply move. Over time, running became more than just exercise. It became a grounding practice that helps me feel like my best self. It is where I process my thoughts, find calm, and take care of my mental health. That is why supporting Ericka's Lighthouse feels so meaningful to me. I learned about Ericka's Lighthouse in middle school, and it was the first time I saw mental health talked about openly. Their programs educate teens early by helping young people understand depression, recognize the signs, and know that it is okay to ask for help. I believe everyone should learn about mental health as early as possible, and Ericka's Lighthouse makes that possible for so many students. Growing up in the Chicago area, I always knew Ericka's Lighthouse as a constant source of hope and light in the community. Running for this cause lets me connect what keeps me grounded with a mission I truly admire: making sure no young person feels alone in the dark.
