Running my first marathon to support Erika’s Lighthouse and teen mental health

26.2 Miles to End the Stigma

This fall, I’m running my first Chicago Marathon in support of Erika’s Lighthouse, an incredible organization dedicated to ending the stigma around mental health and preventing teen suicide through education. Too many teens don’t have the language, confidence, or support to ask for help, and Erika’s Lighthouse is changing that by providing schools with free, evidence-based programs.

Training for 26.2 miles while planning my own wedding will be a challenge, but every early morning run and long weekend mileage will be worth it knowing each step supports life-saving education and resources for teens. My goal is to raise $3,500 to help provide these programs and give more young people the tools and confidence to ask for help.
