2026 VCA Walk for the Animals

Thank you for visiting my Walk for the Animals fundraising page!

For over 36 years, the Walk for the Animals has served as the Humane Society of Broward County's largest annual fundraiser. By donating to the Walk, you are helping the HSBC provide not only care for homeless animals, but services and educational outreach for our community.

Because of the generous support from our community, in 2025 the HSBC was able to:

Adopt 4,572 pets into loving home, 204 more than last year!
Return 171 lost pets were reunited with their owners and 44 dogs and cats were sent to rescue groups for a total of 4,972 lives saved!
Transport in 1,559 dogs and cats from rural shelters located throughout Florida, Georgia and Puerto Rico.
Provide a low-cost vaccine clinic for our community which serviced 17,111 dogs and cats, a 20% increase over the previous year!
Perform 3,055 low-costs spay/neuter surgeries, nearly 700 more than last year!
Provide 950 pets and their families life-saving or life-changing assistance, whether through medical care, training help or other vital resources.
Run a mobile clinic and food pantry with Street Dog Coalition to provide services and food for animals owned by our unhoused community.
Provide foster families for 1,536 pets who needed extra care before being placed for adoption. One-third of all adopted pets started their journey to a forever home with a foster family!
Provide affordable Puppy Pre-School and Basic Obedience Classes for our Community.
Conduct an Animal Assisted Therapy Program which currently has 44 volunteers, who make regular visits to 52 facilities in South Florida including senior facilities, rehabilitation facilities, mental health facilities and major hospitals.
Operate an Education Department which provides programs that educate children, teens and adults such as Kids Clubs, Teen Clubs, Friends of Animals Club, Pawsitive Service Days, Shelter Tours, Spring & Summer Camps,Family Camps, Teacher Planning Day Camps, Career Day Presentations, School Presentations and Birthday Parties.
