I’m walking to support the animals at the Humane Society of Broward County on February 21, 2026 - and I hope you’ll donate to show your support as well! (If you don’t, Lyra has promised to come over and deposit a hairball in your shoes - I wouldn't test her on this. She can be pretty fierce.)
I am forever grateful for the amazing work HSBC does for homeless pets and for the incredible amount of love they’ve brought into my life.
On Valentine’s Day in 2010, I was at the shelter and just happened to meet my best girl Madison. For those of you who didn’t know Madison, she adopted me at the age of 13 and we had 14 wonderful months together before she left us. She taught me how to be a good Cat Mom.
Several months after losing Madison, Lyra and I found each other - again at the Humane Society of Broward County shelter, and as much as I tried to play it cool - it was love at first sight. I tried to drive home without her, but turned around and went back to claim her!
My life is so much better because of these beautiful creatures.
Without HSBC’s care, I can’t imagine what bleak future my amazing girls would have faced. So I’m raising funds to help as many homeless and abandoned pets as possible. The need is greater now than ever.
(For the record, Huckleberry is a fan of HSBC too - but she found me through other channels on the Cat Distribution System.)
For over 35 years, the VCA Walk for the Animals has been the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest and most impactful annual fundraiser.
