In honor of Burbie….

This walk is deeply personal for me. Burbie wasn’t just a pet—he was family, my constant, my comfort, and my reminder of how profoundly animals change our lives. Losing him left a quiet space that never quite fills, but it also strengthened my commitment to help other animals experience the love, safety, and care he knew every day.

For more than 35 years, the VCA Walk for the Animals has been the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest and most impactful fundraiser. Every dollar raised provides food, shelter, medical care, and compassion to thousands of animals who are still waiting for their person—their “Burbie”—to come along.

By donating, you’re not just supporting an organization. You’re giving animals a chance at comfort, healing, and a life where they are cherished, not forgotten.

Raising these funds is my way of honoring Burbie’s life by helping other animals have a better one.
