Every Moment Counts
Every step I take in this walk is for my daughter, Jennifer Brian.
When people hear about a charity walk or run, they often picture a hopeful crowd, colorful shirts, music playing, and people smiling as they cross the finish line. And yes, those things are there. But for families like ours, every step carries something heavier—something deeply personal.
For us, this walk is not just an event on a calendar. It is a reflection of a battle that became part of our everyday life.
Jennifer is my daughter, but she is also one of the strongest people I know. Watching someone you love face a difficult journey is something no parent is ever prepared for. You want to protect them from everything in the world, yet sometimes the hardest battles are the ones you cannot fight for them.
You can only stand beside them.
There are moments families go through that the outside world rarely sees—the long nights filled with worry, the quiet prayers whispered when no one else is around, the moments when strength feels like it is running out but you keep going anyway because love leaves you no other choice.
There are days filled with hope, and days that feel impossibly heavy.
But there is also something powerful that grows in the middle of that struggle: resilience, courage, and a deeper understanding of what truly matters.
Jennifer has taught me more about strength than I could ever teach her. She reminds me every day that courage doesn’t always look loud or heroic. Sometimes courage is simply waking up, facing another day, and refusing to give up.
That is why I am walking.
I am walking for Jennifer.
I am walking for every family who knows the quiet weight of this kind of battle. For the parents who would trade places with their child in a heartbeat. For the siblings, grandparents, and loved ones who stand together, holding on to hope.
This walk is my way of turning love into action.
If my steps can help bring awareness, support research, help another family feel less alone, or bring us one step closer to better answers and brighter futures, then every mile will be worth it.
Because this fight is real.
The struggles families face are real.
And so is the love that keeps us moving forward.
So when you see me walking or running, know that every step carries a name, a story, and a hope.
Her name is Jennifer Brian.
And I will keep walking—for her.
