I started Team QCP for QCP back in 2010 when I took a job here as a Development Assistant. If it weren't for running, I would have never segued into a career in fundraising, so I owe a lot to running. Since we began the running program, we have raised more than half a million dollars! It was good move and I have loved recruiting others to join our team and I love running on behalf of QCP, and have done so- many times! My last Marathon was NYC 2019, my last half was April '23 - I am overdue for a distance race, but I am also older, more klutzy and not in terribly great shape SOOOO this is my call to get back in shape and for the first time do Disney as part of Team QCP! We took a big leap of faith taking on this giant race and always one to put my money where my mouth is, I am doing the Half Marathon! I am running for Queens Centers for Progress because i know firsthand, and see EVERY DAY how much this organization is doing to support children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community. Working with more than 1500 individuals of all ages, QCP offers everything from educational support to job training to housing — always with the goal of supporting people’s independence, community involvement, and quality of life. Their life-enriching programs help the individuals they serve become more independent, more involved in the community and, bottom line, helps to improve their quality of life. QCP and I care deeply about the people whom we support and I feel honored to be able to fundraise and be part of of our team's inaugural run in the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend!
