For Lyle and I, the Dopey Challenge has always been about more than just 48.6 miles. Our running journey started after his incredible 200-pound weight loss—we conquered the physical transformation, but we found ourselves searching for a deeper "why" to fuel our miles.

In 2023, we found that "why" when we discovered the Dragon Master Initiative.  After losing a dear friend to Glioblastoma, finding a team dedicated to brain cancer research felt like fate.

We loved running Dopey 2023 with Team Fired Up!  We’re heading back to Disney for the 2027 Dopey Challenge, and there was never a doubt about who we’d be running for.  We’re turning 48.6 miles into a fight for a cure for childhood cancer and Glioblastoma!
