I run for Team Fired Up and the Dragon Masters Initiative because this is about so much more than crossing a finish line.
Every mile I run is for kids who are facing battles they never chose—kids fighting cancer with a level of strength, resilience, and courage that is truly humbling. While I can train, prepare, and choose to show up on race day, these kids show up every single day to fight something far bigger than a race.
Team Fired Up represents the power of turning passion into purpose—bringing people together to make a real difference. And the Dragon Masters Initiative reminds me exactly who this effort is for: incredible young warriors who continue to push forward, even on their hardest days.
Running a 5K is temporary. The physical challenge, the early mornings, the miles—it all comes and goes.
What these kids and their families are going through does not.
That perspective is what fuels me. It’s what pushes me to keep going when it gets tough, and it’s why this run matters so much to me.
I run to raise awareness.
I run to support families who need it most.
I run to help bring strength, hope, and resources to kids who are in the fight of their lives.
This is my small way of standing beside them—of turning miles into something meaningful—and of making sure they know they are never fighting alone.
