Jeremiah was diagnosed with hemophilia right after he was born. Having hemophilia means that he bruises and bleeds easily. It means that he has to go to the ER to get medication (factor) for something that we would have just used ice or a bandaid for. In his first 2 years of life he went to the ER at least 7 times for factor. He also had factor multiple times in his first 2 weeks of life. He is on a new medication now that is a shot given every 4 weeks by me. It has drastically reduced the bruises and bleeding, but he still needs to be careful. Please consider donating to the Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida. They provide financial support to those in need (medication can be expensive with and without insurance) and emotional support by connecting our community of bleeding disorders.
