The Center for Heirs' Property Preservation® (CHPP™) has been a 501c3 non-profit organization since 2005. The Center’s mission is protecting heirs’ property and promoting the sustainable use of land to provide increased economic benefit to historically under-served families through legal and forestry education and services.
Located in historic Downtown The Charleston Gaillard Center opened in 2015 and was named after John Palmer Gaillard Jr. The center serves as a platform to participate in community building, and has prioritized creating partnerships with other local nonprofits and community groups to create a
broader community conversation platform.
