Champ Quigley

Champ became part of the family after I said goodbye to one of my senior dogs.  It took about a month of visiting the SPCA to decide on a companion for my other dog Mambo.  Mambo had been a constant in my life for over 12 years, and was used to being the alpha.  And honestly Champ was not the first choice, having only 3 legs I was concerned that Mambo would bully him.  The staff at the center did understand my concerns, and could not have been more caring and helpful. Many times I just sat and cried, because I just wasn' t sure.  Finally on New Years Day, 2017 Champ came home with me.  He was tailor made for the household, even with Mambo being part Mastiff, and 100 plus pounds, he held his own.  They soon were couch buddies and inseperable.  Mambo took over and taught Champ manners, he taught her how to play again.

We said goodbye to Mambo this past January, and I was on the hunt for the perfect companion again.  I knew I was not ready for another dog, but Champ needed a playmate.  Tiger Cat joined the family, he is young enough to be playful, and big enouth to hold his own.  Champ has another couch buddy.  I cannot say enough about the staff at the SPCA and their caring capacity. Not only for the animals but for the people and their situations.  I know I will be a supporter for as long as possible, and entering Champ in the Rescued Pets Contest is one of the ways I can.Tell your story here!
