I feel a personal connection to the children in Haiti. They are innocent victims of systemic racism, greed, inhumanity and natural disasters. They deserve to have better lives.
On Saturday, November 12, I will do my part by joining hundreds of volunteers at the Teaneck Packathon to pack 137,000 meals for school children in Haiti. We will pack at Hope Presbyterian Church, 1190 River Road in Teaneck, New Jersey. There will be four (4) packing sessions: 9-11am, 12-2 pm 3-5 pm and 6-8 pm.
We plan to provide reliable, nutritious, daily lunches the entire 2023 year for the 600 children in the two schools that we support.
It will take a lot of food--almost 10 tons of rice, beans, vegetables and vitamins. In addition to packing, I must raise funds to buy these ingredients. We need to raise $60,000 for the food, shipping and delivery to the two villages. I am making it my personal goal to raise $1,000.
