This year, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the CJD Foundation. Since our founding in 1993, the CJD Foundation has:

  • Answered over 30,000 Helpline calls and messages
  • Hosted 20 annual conferences and hundreds of family programs
  • Held countless advocacy meetings on Capitol Hill
  • Received well over one million website visits
  • Awarded more than $4 million to fund 77 research grants.

While grateful for this progress, we recognize there is still a long way to go in the fight against CJD. With your continued support, we can:

  • Be there to answer a call or message the first time a family hears the diagnosis, offering them information, resources, and referrals

  • Present expert perspectives on CJD diagnosis, care, and family issues from clinicians, scientists, and volunteer specialists in genetic counseling, social work, hospice, bereavement counseling, and more

  • Offer a forum for families to connect with and support one another through monthly support groups

  • Amplify the voices of the Prion Disease community on Capitol Hill, educating legislators about the impact of CJD on patients and families and the need to fund Prion Disease research and surveillance

  • Offer online resources for families and professionals, including our website and recorded presentations from our conferences and workshops

  • Attract research grant applications from scientists worldwide, award annual research grants, and bring you updates from these scientists
