Once upon a time I was a runner!

You  might remember because at least once a year, I would reach out to you and tell you I was running a marathon to raise money for a charity, and you, my wonderful family, friends and colleagues, would give! Thank you! 

Your donations kept me going. Your donations justified me going out there and killing myself- all for a good cause! And as long as y'all kept donating, I vowed I'd keep going. Well guess what? I stopped, you stopped, and now I am a bona fide couch potato! That needs to change! 

So with your help, love and support, I am starting up once again, after a way-too-long hiatus! And as I stand her on the precipice of my 60th Birthday, I am hell-bent on getting myself back into marathon shape. And to do this, I am going to run, and I am going to raise money for an organization near and dear to my heart- Queens Centers for Progress! 

I have been with QCP Since 2010, when I walked in the door for an interview, not knowing what to expect, and left feeling light-hearted and inspired!  The lobby was buzzing with people who came to QCP for programs, all happy and smiling, ready to start their day! People with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, want what we all want- to live their best lives! And I am proud, and blessed that I am able to come to work each day, see the happy and smiley faces and know I am helping people to achieve their dreams- whatever they may be! 

So, now that you have all have a few years break from me, I am back and asking you to help me get to my Fundraising Goal AND my running goal! On April 29^th, QCP will hold our annual Footsteps for Progress 5K, and I will run it! And on the next day, April 30^th, I will be running my first half marathon in over 3 years!  Your motivation and donations are appreciated!
