The 2024 Move for MDS walk is on Sunday, October 20, at Boston Common. I want to thank all of you who participated by walking and/or donating in 2023. I am asking you to join Team Ireland again this year to raise awareness of MDS and funding for research.
This year it is more important for me than ever before, for despite my stem cell transplant in 2022, my MDS has relapsed in a form that is extremely aggressive. Without treatment, I may have only months to live. I will be starting chemotherapy shortly, which has less than a 50% chance of improving outcomes.
God willing, I will be able to participate in the MDS walk this October, and I sincerely hope that you can join my family and me on this year's walk or contribute to our team fundraising goal.
