Why I walk
According to my T-shirt collection this will be my sixth walk. I have missed a few years because of scheduling conflicts or illnesses but I try to participate somehow every year.
I walk because I have lost family and friends to HIV/AIDS and I want to honor their memories.
I walk because the money I raise through generous donations goes directly to Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center to provide HIV/AIDS care services to clients in the Great Lakes Bay Region. These people may receive emergency fund money, personal care items, HIV/AIDS prevention education and screening, support and educational meetings.
I walk because it is fun and it lifts my soul! Whether it sunny or rainy, hot or cold, I always end the walk with a smile on my face. You should all join me; I want to spread the joy!
I walk because I can. I am an old dame but I don't feel old when walking with the "kids".
I hope that you can donate but if you can't, wish me well and I will wish the same for you.
