On Monday, September 8, 2025, the Stellar Steppers return for our 2nd Annual Sunrise to Sunset Walk—our very first fundraising event to support the tiniest warriors in the Bronson Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Kalamazoo, MI.
We’ll walk the full Kal-Haven Trail—from sunrise in Kalamazoo to sunset in South Haven, covering 35 miles in one inspiring day. Whether you walk a single mile or all 35, you’re helping bring hope and healing to premature and critically ill babies. Every step, no matter how many, makes a difference—and all walkers are welcome.
This daylong challenge is our way of stepping up for families facing some of the toughest moments of their lives. Every step we take represents hope, healing, and heart for babies who are starting life in the NICU—and the dedicated caregivers helping them grow stronger each day.
Why Bronson’s NICU?
The NICU at Bronson Children’s Hospital provides critical, life-saving care to newborns who need extra help at the start of life. As a level III NICU, Bronson cares for the most fragile infants in our region—offering advanced medical support, 24/7 care teams, and compassionate family services.
Fundraising Goal: $3,500
Our initial goal is to raise $3,500 to support the incredible work happening every day in Bronson’s NICU. Any funds raised beyond this amount will go even further to provide essential support and innovation for the NICU, amplifying the impact of every donation.

Who Are the Stellar Steppers?
We are a walking group that began in April 2023 as friends and family stepping together for fun, fitness, and connection. What started with a little friendly competition quickly grew into something more—cheering each other on, setting big goals, and stepping up for causes that matter. This is our first fundraising walk, and we’re honored to turn our passion and purpose toward helping the babies and families in Bronson’s NICU.

100% of proceeds go directly to the Bronson Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) via the Bronson Health Foundation in Kalamazoo, MI.
