Dear family & friends, 

I invite you to become a Companion in Mission.  Companions gain the privilege of going with us on mission by giving while we give by going.  We need Companions in Mission to join us on our upcoming Capuchin Appalachian Mission.

As part of my volunteer year, during the week of July 6-14, I will participate in Capuchin Youth & Family Ministries’ 28th Annual Appalachian Mission. Our community of 50 youth and 25 adults will travel to Harlan, Kentucky to serve. You, as a Companion in Mission become a part of our:

• Outreach Ministry, supplying people in need with basic necessities such as clothing and cleaning supplies. 
• Vacation Bible School free of charge to children in need.
• Manual Labor Ministry, repairing homes for people who do not have the means to do so on their own.
• Senior Ministry, visiting lonely seniors in a nursing home. 

I’m coming to you, someone who cares about young people, with several requests for support! I’d like you to sign on with us as a Companion in Mission. Whereas I give by going, we ask our Companions to go by giving:

• Giving attention to the unjust situations faced by poor children and families in our country
• Giving up a few minutes each day to pray for us, both as we prepare for the trip, and during our service in Harlan
• Giving a financial gift to change the life of a child who will attend our free VBS, or to repair the home of a homebound person with a leaking roof.

In addition, leave your e-mail in the comments and we will send you two or three updates during our mission.

Contribution Impact by Amount: 

$1440 covers the cost of renting one of our 7 vans for the week

$990 covers the cost of renting one of our 2 cargo vans for the week

$750 will give a family a roof that doesn’t leak

$350 will replace a hot water heater so a family can take baths and wash dishes

$100 will buy four pieces of plywood

$65 will feed one of our 84 missionaries for the week

$50 will help our Outreach Ministry provide for two families

$40 pays for gas for one vehicle for a day

$16 will sponsor a child for Vacation Bible School for the week
