It's that time of year again where we start gearing up for our annual Disney Princess Half-Marathon weekend as we race for a cure for Rett Syndrome as members of our beloved Sweet Caroline's Crew.  As you are all well aware, 2020 is no ordinary year and like everyone,Girl Power 2 Cure is having to make adjustments, too.  So, it is with heavy hearts that we announce that we won't be traveling to Orlando this year for our races.  

But, if you know us, you know that we aren't going to let this bump in the road keep us from supporting our Caroline and the rest of our Rett family! We will continue our efforts to raise money for Rett Snydrome, the debilitating neurological disorder that is the leading cause of severe impairment in girls and is now also known for affecting boys.  The families we are fighting for need our support since individuals with Rett depend on their families every part of every day. Many lose their ability to speak, walk, and use their hands and are trapped inside bodies that are not allowing them to move freely through this world.  Many experience complications incluing seizures, scoliosis, and even sudden death in their sleep.

Please consider donating to help me support Girl Power 2 Cure in their efforts to raise funds for research for Rett Syndrome. Girl Power 2 Cure and the amazing humans that are a part of it, are working tirelessly to support the much needed research required to find a cure for Rett Syndrome.  

This year, although we won't be running our 5k, 10k, and 1/2 marathon at Disney World, we will be running our little hearts out here in Georgia to support my best friend Jeanna, her daughter, and all of our Rett family.  We refurse to let COVID-19 keep us from working for a cure. Each and every run we complete from now until February will be for our girl.
