Junior Achievement is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to inspire young people to succeed in a global economy. Since its founding in 1919, JA has contributed to the business and economics education of young people throughout the world. JA programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

During the 2015-2016 school year Junior Achievement of Oklahoma:

• Helped teach 56,243 students relevant concepts of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. 
• Over 9,588 JA BizTown® citizens
• Connected 4,011 business & community volunteers to classrooms
• Awarded 6 scholarships to graduating JA students
• Over 1,100 students competed in the JA Investor Challenge
• Over 1,200 high school students learned work readiness skills through JA Job Shadow and JA Workplace Internships

The Tulsa Refinery supports Junior Achievement, through monetary contribution, volunteerism, and Board Member presence. Additionally, the Tulsa Refinery supports Junior Achievement BizTown as a shop sponsor. This program combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a fully interactive simulated town facility, creating real world work scenarios while in a learning environment.
