Why I Plunge
On Sunday, March 1, 2026, I’ll be jumping into Lake Michigan for the Chicago Polar Plunge®, benefiting Special Olympics Illinois, presented by Special Children’s Charities.
I’ve been participating in athletics for most of my life, and every year this reminds me how privileged I am to be able to move my body, compete, and express myself through sport. The Polar Plunge gives thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities the same chance to experience community, achievement, and the joy of sports. That is why this event means so much to me personally.
Taking the plunge each year is my small way of giving back; support access, inclusion, and opportunities for athletes of all abilities.
How You Can Support
There are three easy ways to join me in supporting Special Olympics athletes across Illinois:
1️⃣ Donate to my fundraising page ; every contribution, big or small, truly matters.
2️⃣ Join and take the plunge with me at North Avenue Beach on March 1, 2026 (yes, it’s cold; and its a good time for sure!).
3️⃣ Spread the word ; share my fundraising page with your friends, family, or anyone who believes in access and inclusion through sport.
Thank You
Thank you for helping me support this amazing community. With your help, individuals with intellectual disabilities can continue to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments through sports; and that means the world to me.
