In 2017 I was looking for a way to get members of my union active in fundraising for a great cause. I didn't need to look very far because the Polar Plunge and the Special Olympics is the perfect fit for a group of crazy ironworkers who want to jump into the Lake in March with their hard hats on! This has grown every year and this year will be no different. I ask that you please consider whatever size donation that you feel comfortable making. The Special Olympics is an outstanding organization that helps kids and adults live out their dream to compete on a grand stage when other places have told them "No" From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful for my fellow plungers and those who help us achieve our goal?
On Sunday, March 1, 2026 I will participate in Polar Plunge® Chicago for Special Olympics Illinois presented by Special Children's Charities, one of the city's most popular winter fundraising events! I am excited to take on the challenge and jump into Lake Michigan's chilly waters to support thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities. With your support, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments.
