For years I watched my dad my trudge out into a Chicago Winter every Wednesday night to coach a Special Olympics Swim Team in Lansing IL. Every summer he would head down to Normal IL for the Summer Games with his team. After he passed away a few years ago I knew I wanted to do something to keep his legacy alive so I started volunteering for the Spring Games. This year I wanted to do even more so on Sunday, March 1, 2026 I will participate in Polar Plunge® Chicago for Special Olympics Illinois presented by Special Children's Charities, one of the city's most popular winter fundraising events! I am excited to take on the challenge and jump into Lake Michigan's chilly waters to support thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities. With your support, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments.
