This year marks Corkery’s fourth year participating in the Polar Plunge challenge. Our school proudly serves students with special needs from kindergarten through eighth grade, many of whom participate in Special Olympics programming. Special Olympics supports our students by covering expenses such as uniforms, transportation, sports equipment, ski rentals, and lodging accommodations.
We have seen firsthand the positive impact Special Olympics has on our students—strengthening social connections, introducing them to new sports, and, most importantly, helping them build confidence as they overcome personal challenges. Through these opportunities, students are able to engage in athletic experiences that might otherwise be inaccessible, while also easing the financial burden on their families.
