For the past 20+ years, the Communities In Schools’ Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive has been essential for the families it serves. This year, Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive will be a virtual online fundraiser! Due to COVID-19, workplaces are not yet at full capacity, social distancing limits large volunteer gatherings and precautions are in place to minimize contact. Therefore, instead of accepting school supply donations at your local HEB stores or in office sites across the county, CIS-SA will be raising money for each of our schools so that they have the funds to purchase school supplies, uniforms, and technology for our students. Although there are a few detours this year, the commitment to providing free school supplies to thousands of underserved students remains the same.
Many CIS families are below the poverty line and cannot afford all the supplies their children need to start their school year. With recent job losses and furloughs, the CIS-SA Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive alleviates the stress of back-to-school expenses and allows students to focus on their education with the tools they need. Supplies are available to students throughout the entire school year so students also have the tools they need at home. This year the goal is to raise $225,000 in order to provide 100 CIS-SA schools with $1,500 per campus!
The goal of Friends of CIS is to support one school for $1,500. To support our effort, you can go online and make a donation. So this year, instead of purchasing the notebooks, crayons, and backpacks you usually buy, please be generous today and make your donation.
