Why I Run

I'm very excited to be running for Team Children's in my first ever full marathon and even more excited to be raising money for cancer research. Cancer research is so important because it's how we find a cure. Cancer research has come such a long way in pediatric care, but still has a ways to go. This is near and dear to my heart because working in Oncology I've watched and seen first hand children fight through this terrible disease. A lot of children win their battles, but many do not. I run for the kids that have fought through months of chemo therapy, I run for the kids who did not win their battles and the kids that did. If kids have to fight this war I can run 26.2 miles. It will be hard, it will be painful, but I will have little angles watching over me and cheering me to the finish line... I'm doing this for them and for the warriors yet to come.
