I want to run "for the most amazing people on earth" because, well, it's simple.  I love kids, especially the kids at Children's!  Oh, I like running too.

If you know me at all, you know Children's has a special place in my heart.  I started volunteering for Children's back in high school, took a hiatus while away at college, and found my way back shortly after starting my professional career.  Everytime I am at Children's, I see what a great place it is, but, more importantly, I am reminded how strong, courageous, resilient, and truly amazing all of the kids there are.  So many times you hear people say something along the lines of: "it feels so good to volunteer because I am making a difference in someone's life."  However, I quickly started thinking that the kids are making more of a difference in my life than I ever could in their lives.  Truth is, these kids do so positively affect my life.  When I saw the opportunity to run as part of Team Superstars, I couldn't NOT do it.  This is a different way for me to give back to these kids and help keep Children's the GREAT place it is today!

An added bonus for me is that I have always wanted to run a marathon, but somehow always managed to find an excuse not to do so.  "I travel for work too much, I don't have time to train, blah, blah, blah . . . " the list goes on.  Well, there are NO MORE excuses!  I am running this marathon, and I am going to do it for the kids AND for Children's.  On Sunday, October 9th, it's GO TIME!
