There are a couple of guarantees where babies are concerned: Poop, breaking up with sleep and your love life, poop, crying, poop, giggles, and poop. 

What you aren't guaranteed is a perfectly healthy child . . .  immediately or forever. 

That's why we are so lucky to have Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

Kat was born with a large nevus on her beautiful face. It increases her risk of skin cancer and basically guarantees an amplified version of middle school hell. The incredible doctors, nurses, and teams at Children's Hospital listened to us. Counseled us. And to-date have taken us through 2 very successful surgeries using gentle and confident care of Kat's tiny face and my scared-mommy weepy eyes. We've got about 2 more surgeries to go before Kat replaces her unhealthy nevus with a badass scar. And I couldn't be more thankful for everyone at Children's. 

And this, friends, is the small stuff. Jason and I are lucky. Kat is a healthy, strong, smart little lady. Our health hurdle with her is tiny in comparison with what others must face. And they too are lucky to have Children's Hospitals and Clinics on Minnesota in their court.
