I am very excited to have FINISHED my first ever 10 Mile race on October 9th 2016 as part of the TC Marathon weekend events. I Finished Strong and maintained my goal pace....I am still committed to fundraising on behalf of the Diabetes Program at Children' and hope to meet my new fundraising goal of $1000 in the next few weeks.

I have chosen to support the Diabetes Program at Children's because the work they do for kids with diabetes hits close to home for me and my family. When I was growing up a close relative of mine was diagnosed with type I diabetes at the age of 10.  As active kids we made adjustments to accommodate the highs and lows of her blood sugars, but she could never just leave her diabetes behind and enjoy activities completely worry free.

As a witness to her daily her daily struggles, brave perserverence,and enormous efforts to get the blood sugars and A1c level just right, I have always hoped for a better way to manage this disease, and for a cure. 

I am running to support the Diabetes and Endocrine program and the work of our Specialty Clinic Team to help kids better manage their health and achieve their goals.
