Asher's journey with Children's started at just 21 weeks gestation. Between weeks 20 and 21 Asher's heart rate fell from 120 beats per minute to just 60 beats per minute. Asher is our miracle baby. He was born at 37 weeks 3 days via emergency c-section. At 3 days old he underwent open heart surgery to have a pacemaker implanted. He was discharged just 7 days later. A total of 10 days in the hospital. Asher is now a happy, healthy, full of life kindergarten. While he will be pacer dependent for the rest of his life and that does make his heart special, what really makes his heart so amazing is the amount of empathy and love he has for others. 

We walk each year to thank all of the people who have touched our lives by saving Asher's. While we could never truly repay what they have given us we can try to give other local children the opportunity at a happy, healthy life of their own.
